2021 Blue Jay Recipient
Mia Irvine

Mia was diagnosed with childhood leukemia a few months ago. This BRAVE SWEET KIND little girl’s biggest worry was losing her hair and now we fight to save her life. This is what makes Bluejays Auction so important. Every dollar you donate (even a $2 spinner spot) brings us one step closer to our $5000 goal. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY OTHER OUTCOME! Mia deserves the things she needs to feel strong and beat cancer and we will provide them to her. We are looking to buy her wigs, scarfs, toys, dress up, art supplies, a dvd player, food and damn near anything else this little girl needs to remain a child while giving her the strength to be a WARRIOR. We’re looking to provide her mother, Trinity with the peace of mind that we GOT HER LITTLE GIRL and will help pull her through. Be on the look out for spinners pinned at the top of Family or use #BJA21MIA in the search bar. You can also donate directly to https://paypal.me/gailreeves and remember we are a 501c3 non profit so any donation (including spinner buys) are tax deductible.

Help us, help MIA because we are #OhanaStrong and NO ONE GETS LEFT BEHIND OR FORGOTTEN!

Blue Jay Auction 2020

(Message from Tyson’s family coming soon!)

2020 Blue Jay Recipient
Tyson Marieto

In 2020, we raised $3,000 to get Tyson an under the mattress alarm that alerts his parents if he’s seizing, a lifesaving pillow that prevents suffocation during a seizure, and a watch that he can wear at school to detect seizures!

The 2020 recipient is Tyson Stambaugh. He is 4 years old and suffers from epilepsy. We championed him tin 2020 to provide him the medical equipment he needed to sleep safely in his own bed. Most of Tyson’s seizures happen at night, in his sleep. He needed specialized lifesaving equipment to alert his parents that a seizure was happening. Before being a Blue Jay recipient, Tyson slept in bed with mom and dad for safety. This little guys deserved the independence of sleeping in his own bed, and his parents finally have their own bed back, as well as getting a restful night sleep knowing he was safe.

2019 Blue Jay Recipient
Caden Hagerman

In 2019, we raised $3,000 in THREE DAYS to get Caden the specialist that he needed to help him! More importantly, we eased this mother’s heartbreak of being unable to help her child.

Caden is the son of Wendie and Max Robbins. Caden was 12 years when he was nominated and was in serious need of a specialist. For the last several months he had been in withering pain. He had rapidly deteriorated from the fun, loving 12 year old he used to be. He slept constantly and when he was awake… he was in pain. He was unable to attend school. This poor child had had more tests, Xrays, cat scans, MRI and lab work than a cancer patient (he was checked for that also). THEY COULD NOT FIND THE CAUSE! BUT WE HELPED THAT!!!

Hunter Adams was our first annual Blue Jay Recipient. Below is a message from Hunter’s dad, Sean.

I will always remember October 15th 2016. Walking into Hunters room during nap just curious of what he was doing because he was moving funny on the monitor. Rolling him over and the look on his face is imbedded in my mind. Not knowing what to do because I was home alone, only thing that came to mind was just to scream and try to wake him up like it was all a bad dream. That feeling of being helpless as a mother. This past year has been filled with many thoughts and worries. I have more questions than answers. Worrying all day that my sons unusual behavior may be an indicator of a seizure approaching. Remembering to bring rescue meds wherever we go, even a quick errand because you just never know. Soothing Hunter who is hysterical while being hooked up to EEG leads for the fifth time. Knowing that when I give him his daily medications that it is designed to slow down his brain. Going through three different medications because they haven't worked. Hopefully this is the last. Bringing him to get blood drawn every month making sure his medication levels are therapeutic. Knowing he will also be on this medication twice a day for minimum two years from the last seizure. The countdown keeps restarting. 2020 can't come soon enough. Feeling like I have no control because I don't! But through all of this we witnessed a few things. Our son is the strongest little boy I know. I am blessed to be his Mommy. We love how silly he is, his belly giggles and although he acts like a punk (lol) he is very caring and loving. We love you to the moon and back my Hunter Thomas! Amanda Keith, thank you for your kind words. I cannot imagine the pain that you have gone through. BlueJay’s legacy will live on forever and I know that it will always hold a special place in my family’s heart. BlueJay continues to live. Every year. In every child that is chosen. Hunter has Smudge because of BlueJay, the training he is going through wouldn’t be feasible without every single one of you. From the bottom of our hearts we are grateful and blessed for everything that you have all done. Gail Reeves, you are a rockstar!!!! From the minute you messaged me I feel like I gained a friend… even a sister. I didn’t have this support growing up. Kind of just locked my emotions up because no one really cared. You have been more of a support and words of wisdom for me the past few weeks then I can imagine. You make me die laughing. Thank you love. Thank you Amanda and BlueJay. And thank you to everyone on this page. We will definitely keep you updated on the life of Hunter and Smudge!!!!
